My Free Knitting Patterns

My Free Knitting Patterns

My most popular pattern so far is the now famous All-in-One Baby Top.
Month by month it is top of my most viewed blog posts.
This pattern has been knitted by thousands of knitters all around the world - It is so quick and easy to knit ..... and no sewing up!

I originally wrote it for premature and newborn babies - but due to it's popularity I soon had to add more sizes ......!

The original All-in-One

6 months and 9 - 12 months sizes soon followed

And of course this sweet little baby top needed a matching hat.......

So many knitters loved this little baby top and wanted it in larger sizes too ......so I added are the instructions for age 1-3 and 4-6 years ~

Thousands of knitters have enjoyed making my now famous 'All-in-One Baby Top'. I see them everywhere on the net.
Each one is a little different ~ depending on the yarn used, additional fancy stitches or edgings, and the buttons and trimmings ~ and each and every one of them looks so cute!

All-in-One with Sleeves

I was asked many times for a version with sleeves. I know several people have adapted the pattern - but somehow I just didn't think they ...looked so cute with sleeves. I have tried over and over to make a pattern I was happy with - and at last my perseverance paid off!
I love the way this looks.......... Hope you all like it too?

  4. Where have you been all my knitted life? I made a few Sweet Little Easter Baskets and came here to thank you for that pattern and how delighted I was able to make some for my elderly friends when I dropped one filled with chocolate eggs at their door in my condo building.
How/where can I find the pattern for that adorable sleeveless jacket? I just have to make one in every size as I have every sized great grandchild.

  6. Marianna, you are an Angel with skin! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely baby patterns. I knit for charity, unwed mothers resource center and for the elderly in our local nursing home. Retired, I do have to watch my "budget", so having you as a free resource for my knitting patterns is most helpful. God bless you for what you do. :)

  11. Marianna, What amount of yarn do I need for the Lazy Daisy Days baby 4 piece set? I can't find it on the pattern anywhere! HELP please! Sharon Bosworth e-mail: alsha21778@comcast.net

  12. I'm making the Lazy Daisy Top Down with Sleeves for 0 - 3 months, (the sleeved version of the original top down) and have hit a stumbling block from row 30; after slipping the 2x lots of 26 stitches onto holder for the sleeves, I have the 87 stitches; however, following the pattern (k4, k2, *(k3 m1) rep from * to last 6 stitches, I find I have 7 stitches left at the end of the row. I then should apparently have 113 stitches at this point. and I only have 106! I'm now a bit flummoxed and don't know what to do next - is there a misprint on the pattern?

  18. Thank you so much for all the lovely patterns, especially the all in one cardie which my friends and I have made for our local neo - natal units.

Just a thought - wondering why the buttons/ button holes are always the boy's way round?

Otherwise a beautiful little pattern and so quick & easy and economical too!

  20. Hi I am confused on the newborn pattern for bibi jacket. The sleeves say to cast off 3 std at beg of row and at end of row. If I cast off 3 at end of row I'm left with stitch still. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Hi. Just cut the end and pull it through the left over stitch, like a normal cast off 😊

  21. Absolutely love your patterns and have made several small size cardigans for latest granddaughter. Would love to make more in larger size but am not able to adapt your patterns with any confidence! Is there any formula for e.g. adapting 0-3 month pattern to 6-9/9-12? Thank you for many happy hours of knitting from me and an appreciative daughter

  23. Hello Marianna, I absolutely love your patterns and have made a few now but I have recenty encountered a problem with your website. It appears it's been compromised.
Would you be able to repost your Baby Ugg botties again. It's simply the best pattern.
    Thank you!

  24. Please help!
I am trying to do your Nina baby jacket. It starts with the sleeves but I cannot get my head around the 1st row. Which bit do I do twice? The bit in the brackets or the k3 as well?

  25. Hi. I am making the Wave of light baby hat in 0-3 moths. I think there may be an error in the pattern. I have ripped it out twice. On row 7, there are not enough stitches to K2tog, twice. I am one short. Can you please tell me how to correct this?

    Thanks,
    Mona Seltzer
